MI…No Money To Fix The Damn Roads, but they have it to install digital signs along highways, encouraging residents to follow Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s wear a mask order

LANSING, Mich. — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed a new executive order Friday that requires people to wear masks when inside public spaces and in crowded outdoor areas.

The order also added penalties for people who violate Michigan’s mask law and goes into effect 12:01 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020.

The new penalties and enforcement policies come as COVID-19 numbers continue to rise across the state.

“We want to make it very clear everyone is supposed to be wearing a mask and if you don’t want to be wearing a mask, stay home,” Whitmer said.

Executive Order 2020-147 also requires businesses to enforce the mask requirement.

The Michigan Department of Transportation installed digital signs along state highways, encouraging residents to follow Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s executive order requiring face masks in public.

In Kalamazoo, state officials installed signs along southbound U.S. 131, just north of the Stadium Drive exit.

“Wear a mask in public places. Slow the spread,” one sign read.
